Following the successful introduction of the new ENGEL duo 500 pico, ENGEL recently extended the tried-and-trusted strengths of its large-scale machine series to the 500 tonne clamping force class. As of now, the ENGEL Duo Pico is available in no less than 6 clamping force sizes from 450 to 700 tonnes, while at the same time offering the tried-and-trusted benefits of this successful series: economy, a small footprint, and ultra-short cycle times.
Plastics with modified characteristics play an increasingly important role in the industry. Mineral additives or glass fibres in particular are very demanding on the wear resilience of the plasticising components. ENGEL now offers carbide coating for screws under the "ENGEL onyx" product name. This has improved both the coating toughness and the bonding force by 300 percent. At the same time, further improvements of abrasion resilience are achieved. "Onyx screws" are available in the 25 to 70 mm diameter range.
